ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

Hank Browne, owner of Hank’s Furniture Inc., recently announced a donation of $20,000 to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The funds were raised through the Hank’s Fine Furniture Care, Love and Hope Campaign held during their September 2014 anniversary sale.

Hank’s asked people to submit stories about what “Care, Love and Hope” meant to them. Over 100 submissions were entered to win a girl’s or a boy’s bedroom set. The winners were Cassie Ross of Fayetteville and Kacey Wood of Jonesboro.

“This year it is our pleasure to give Arkansas Children’s Hospital, serving all of Arkansas, our gift of $20,000,” said Browne. “We are pleased to be a part of the funding effort to keep Arkansas Children’s Hospital on the cutting edge of scientific research to help continue their commitment to the well-being of seriously ill and injured children in our community.”

Twenty-two years ago, Hank’s Fine Furniture began donating a portion of the proceeds during their anniversary month sale to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. To date, the proceeds have totaled more than $555,000.

“Local children’s hospitals have been selected as one of our annual charitable commitments because we believe these hospitals impact the lives of children and families in the communities we serve,” says Browne. “We feel privileged to be working for such worthy organizations and causes.”

WCF POP UP SHOP

The Pop Up Shop is the most unique fundraiser Little Rock has ever seen. This first-time event is a fundraiser to benefit Women & Children First: The Center Against Domestic Violence.

Several of the WCF Board Members have closets full of clothes, donations and even more items as we are planning a thrift store in the future. In a casual conversation we were talking about having a “Flash Sale” – a one or two day event to sell these lovely “gently “worn clothes to raise money for the shelter.

As our enthusiasm grew, we asked our past “Women of the Year” to purge their closets as well for this event. This idea caught on like crazy. The best dressed women in Little Rock all wanted to participate. Then we took it a step further and asked some of the coolest clothing stores in the city if they would like to give us new clothes, shoes, purses, and accessories to sell.

The flash sale turned into “The Pop-Up Shop.” The brands are amazing: Versace, Escada, Lafayette 148, Ralph Lauren. Michael Kors, Chloe, Fontana Couture, Dolce & Gabbana, Eileen Fisher, Elie Tahari and so many more! All these new and “gently worn” clothes will be sold at ridiculously low prices. Fabulous ball gowns that originally retailed for several hundred dollars are now available for less than $100.00. The retail price tags are still a lot of the clothes and many are NOW priced at 10% of the original retail.

The sale is an all-day event on Saturday, September 13 starting t 8 am and ending at 6 pm. The sale event will take place at the Verizon Office Park on Riverdale in Building 3. Best of all - admission is free! But if you want a sneak peek and first dibs on all the great deals, check out the “Shop and Sip” event on Friday night. Tickets are just $25 – proceeds benefit WCF. In addition to great deals, there will be wine and hor d’ourves.

Watch us on KATV Channel 7 on Good morning Arkansas on Sept 11th where we will be showing some of the couture bargains.
